Reception and insertion

Reception procedure and application for admission

Admission to Franciscan nursing homes involves a specific path.
Initial interview
The initial approach with guests and their families is followed by an initial interview, in which all information about the facility in general, the services offered, and the availability of beds is provided. Before beginning a possible stay in the homes for the elderly in Monghidoro or Bologna, guest and family members are encouraged to visit the facility and, if interested, make an appointment with the director of the chosen home.
Reception
Guests at the Franciscan nursing homes in Bologna and Monghidoro are asked to bring personal underwear and decent clothing in sufficient quantities. On the day of admission to the nursing home, the guest and his or her family members are welcomed by the staff and escorted to the assigned room.
Room assignment
It is the management that assigns the rooms, trying as much as possible to meet the needs and wishes of the guest and, in the case of double occupancy, those already living there. The room will be set up by caregivers who will be ready to ease the natural tension of the moment, promoting maximum serenity. At the beginning of the stay, it is good for family members to stay longer, to help the relative acclimatize. Instead, it is the nurses' responsibility to contact the patient's general practitioner to complete the medical history and confirm daily therapies.
Documentation required at entry
Upon admission to the nursing home, it is necessary to have with you ID card, social security number, health card with any exemptions, and copies of any medical records and certificates of hospitalization and discharge from the hospital.
It is also required to subscribe to
  • Adherence to the rules of procedure;
  • privacy policy.

Entry

In the days immediately following admission to Franciscan Nursing Homes, the guest’s family members will go for interviews with the facility’s doctor and nursing staff to complete the guest’s clinical and health overview.

All guests are constantly monitored: within the first month of their stay, an Individualized Care Plan will be drawn up, which includes personalized interventions. This does not preclude the elderly person from contacting the facility doctor, nurses, administration and RAA for any needs or communication.

Time and date of reception are agreed upon with the guest and his or her family members: the stable reception range is Monday to Friday, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Health

Any health treatment provided by Franciscan nursing homes requires the informed consent of the patient.

In the case of death, the funeral is the responsibility of the heirs, family members or the institution that, by law, must bear the obligation.

Valuables in the possession of the deceased guest, except for outstanding expenses or debts, are handed over to the rightful claimants.

If, upon admission to the nursing home, the guest introduces items or furniture, these will be returned upon discharge and/or death to the patient and/or his or her direct heirs.
